Self-Responsibility &
Goal Orientation

Self-Responsibility & Goal Orientation as Foundations of Agile Transformation

Increasing complexity in the framework conditions has regularly led to an increase in the company's own complexity in the past - on the one hand through additional (multi-line) structures and on the other hand through growing regulations. Both reach natural limits. The result is: companies lose dynamism, there is a lack of accountability, and the motivation of all involved suffers.

Against this background, agility is rightly seen as a solution approach. Based on the agile manifesto, this solution approach focuses on customer benefits and the pursued goals. All participants should bring in their competencies, make decisions, and develop solutions iteratively on their own responsibility.

However, precisely where the need for self-responsibility is greatest - in strongly hierarchical and rule-oriented companies - the questions about the "how?", i.e., about the regulations, roles, and structures, are brought to the forefront and worked on very intensively. Agile methods then quickly become an end in themselves, or: old wine in new bottles. Those who focus in this way waste most of the potential.

It is more helpful to ask the question "why?", i.e., about the goals, and to consistently break these down to all levels. This automatically involves structure, leadership, and culture. The result is a comprehensive transformation process. The new commitment, as well as the feedback and error culture that emerges, will usually initially lead to skepticism and resistance.

We help you secure this path by preparing the leaders and employees, ensuring commitment, and continuously adjusting the coordinates with you.
